Soft Granulated Blast Furnace
Slag is a sand-type slag manufactured by spraying high-pressure
water on blast-furnaces molten slag. The product is sold for
domestic and overseas markets as a Ground Granulated Blast Furnace
Slag and a cement material, as well as a material for civil
engineering and construction work, silicate-calcium fertilizer,
and raw matelial for high-grade glass.

Limits
to our Earth's resources exist, as do limits to what our environment
can feasibly handle. As we near these limits, the unforeseen
deterioration of our planet becomes ever more noticeable,
evidenced by phenomena such as the thinning of the ozone layer,
global warming, deforestation and desertification. In regard
to raw materials used for making concrete, to lessen the burden
on the environment, it has been suggested that we conduct
the necessary processes while preserving the environment in
its natural state to the highest degree possible.
The ability to year after year successfully obtain sand, a
resource thought to be in an inexhaustible supply, has become
increasingly difficult, and concerns have begun to appear
regarding the lowering levels of strength and durability in
concrete. It is for this reason that expectations are high
for the sand produced from blast furnace slag.
Blast furnace slag fine aggregate was recognized as meeting
JIS A 5012 standards in 1981, and has also been stipulated
in guidelines for the Architectural Institute of Japan and
the Japan Society of Civil Engineers. Presently, it is being
revised as JIS A 5011-1 (Slag aggregate for concrete), and
is also stipulated as JIS A 5038 (ready-mixed concrete). In
place of natural sand, the blast furnace slag fine aggregate
we produce uses raw materials for concrete that are friendly
to the environment and which our customers can utilize with
peace of mind.
